HISTORICAL BACKGROUNDS :

Aranmanai Siruvayal lies in between Kalayar koll and Kallal in Sivagangai taluk. The ancient name of this village was Siuuvayal. Since a big palace was built in later days it is named as Aranmanai Siruvayal. A Siva temple was built during 13th century A.D. by the then pandya rulers. This area was under the control of Maruthu brothers during the middle of eighteenth century. raged a war against british.

They built a small fort for the use of their soldiers A barracks. Now the remains of this fort is protected as a historical monument.
